About Sally McCormick
Sally’s love for writing began at Daniels Junior High where, under the guidance of her English and journalism teacher Marcia Esping, she began to hone the skills that became her career. Sally received two communication degrees: a Master of Communication (Public Relations) from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts (Radio, Television and Motion Pictures) from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Since completing her graduate studies, Sally has provided business communications and public relations consulting for nonprofits, government agencies, associations and businesses in a variety of industries. To ensure her clients receive the full complement of services when needed, she partners with other professionals who provide expertise in graphic design, media planning and placement, and Web design.
Sally’s dedication to the business extends beyond her client relationships to the classroom. She teaches public relations and event planning classes she created at Meredith College, where she has been adjunct faculty in the Communication Department since 1998. Designated as service-learning faculty, Sally matches communications opportunities at local nonprofits with her classes’ curricula, providing hands-on, practical experience for her students. Organizations her students have worked with include Diabetes Management Solutions, Sustain Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, Dress for Success Triangle and Second Chance Pet Adoptions.
